Hailing from Portland, Minneapolis and Chicago respectively, Kendra, Rudy and Jeremiah paint female characters in sweetly tinged fairy tale environments.
Kendra grew up exploring the wonders of the small world of creatures in her backyard and transfers this closeness with the small and obscure into her paintings. Seen through pastel washes and shiny candy coatings of resins, her works are at once gentle and cruel, sweet and unsettling.
Rudy's work is influenced by the creative environment her toy designer parents provided. Inspiration from her job at a local bakery is also evident in her sweetly adorned girls. Her oil paintings feature babes, toys, and candy coated madness in macabre, whimsical worlds.
Jeremiah paints a world to which fairy tales long to belong. Influenced by Japanese aesthetics and manga, his paintings transport their audience out of reality into a dream-like world with candied tones and imaginative landscapes. He has recently introduced more realistic female figures to his work, creating a beautiful new dimension.
