Nearly three fourths of our planet is covered by ocean waters... the seas are home to mysterious, beautiful and awesome creatures, contain unexplored deep trenches, are filled with colorful and unique plant life, have been sailed and explored for centuries, provide food and livelihood for numerous cultures around the world, have inspired Mythological creatures and gods, were home to feared pirates, hosted naval battles, and provided a final resting place for sunken ships. The rise and fall of the tides, the lure of the open sea, and the sound of crashing waves can evoke feelings of peace, adventure, wonder and fear. This show explores all themes relating to the sea...

Water moves, conceals, enters, exits, it gives life and takes life away. It has a big part in my work, the power it holds is something larger than us. I love the mystery it creates, along with the distortion, as if it can keep our secrets and yet not let us even remember them for ourselves. These works feature the confusion of the visual image, depending on how one looks at the piece, it could be saving, it could be searching, it could be letting go. Or all of them at once.
