There are things you see every day, take for granted, barely notice. But, these are things that would dramatically alter your life should they disappear.
Seattle artist Todd Karam has made these objects noticible again, brought them to the forefront, forced you to recognize them and the role they play in your daily life. Through alteration, he brings you closer to what you already know.
Seattle artist Todd Karam returns to Suite 100 Gallery with new works.
My paintings are an exercise in spontaneity and creativity. I am attracted to the ordinary objects and the layers of life: the information, patterns, textures and colors often over-looked by others. I value the layers of information and their ability to provoke unexpected thoughts and emotional reactions. Creating the piece is only the beginning of the process. The painting is not complete until it has been seen by the intended audience.
