Fairytales and storybook fables have provided colorful illustrations of our traditional folk-wisdom, ubiquitous backdrops for water cooler anecdotes, and authoritative linchpins for our own moralizing and pontification. From cartoons, television series, and comics to coloring books and lunchbox graphics, these stories have been told and recycled to the point of complete amalgamation with pop culture. In May 2007, 15 artists revisted these stories in Happily Ever After?. This April, these fantastical stories will be retold by 18 of the most whimsical and illustrative artists across the United States. Suite 100 Gallery proudly presents these reinterpretations with Happily Ever After? II, a group show featuring all-new works with a resounding fairytale theme.
