Todd Karam's paintings are exercises in spontaneity, drawing from the ordinary textures, patterns and colors often overlooked by others. He values the ability these textures possess to provoke unexpected thoughts and emotional reactions. He creates what feels right, ignoring the rules, and letting colors do what they should do -- combine, clash, and above all, make a statement. He says, "If the finished work is not what I expected, it's a success. It's that simple."
In recent years, acclaimed artist Todd Karam has had many solo shows in both galleries and alternative spaces around the Northwest. He has also hung in retail spaces and group shows all around the country, and has been commissioned by private and corporate clients, including Starbucks and Nordstrom.
