Ethan Jack Harrington is a prominent local artist with a unique style of surreal impressionism that has given new shape and perspective to familiar landscapes and venues in Seattle and other cities.
A prolific plein-aire oil painter, Harrington sets up his easel on sidewalks, rooftops or in open fields, and paints his surroundings quickly in order to capture the mood of the moment.
Evolving his style since the early line-drawings and graffiti art of his youth (from which his "Ejak" signature was born), he captures the spirit of a subject by removing the rigidity of brick, glass and steel, allowing buildings to breathe and interact organically.
His "Girls with Guns" series also offers a provocative, often sexy look into the dark, internal conflict of young women.
Ethan Jack Harrington has been painting professionally for more than ten years, and has exhibited work locally, regionally and nationally.
