David was raised by mechanical wolves and imaginary friends in the semi-rural post-industrial landscape of the Hudson Valley, just north of New York City. The tense dialog between commercialized urbanization and the natural forces of wilderness and decay he observed as an egg have led him to create a body of work that seeks to reconcile the progressive with the antique in art and theory. After many sordid adventures in the Catskill Mountains, NYC, Providence, London, and Chicago, he finds himself living in a subterranean lair in Boston where he received his BFA from the SMFA/Tufts University in 05'. With the help of a giant cat named Grendel, he makes art, teaches metalsmithing, writes theory, designs clothing, vehicles, and architecture, and practices subversive gastronomy. He recently quit his blue collar fabrication job because it gave him knee pain and having a steady paycheck made things too easy.
