Brent Blake studied art at Central Washington University, and art and architecture at the University of Washington. He interned with Jack Woodman & Associates and NBBJ in architecture and Robert Carpenter, prominate Seattle gallery owner and contemporary art collector.
His early paintings were meticulous, hard-edged, architectural abstractions that became his trademark. His current works are layered explorations of color and texture that engage and provoke the viewer. The vivid, often stark relationship between color and form is envigorating, being simultaneously calculated and rebellious.
His work is included in numerous corporate and private collections including: Weyerhaeuser Corporation, SAFECO Insurance Co., PPG Industries, KPFF Consulting Engineers, NBBJ Group, and numerous others.
Brent continues to paint public and private work on commission, and is a friend of Suite 100 Gallery.
